Hack of the Week No.166

This year the Vectric User Group meeting had a different format and Design and Make took that opportunity to do something a bit different.  Using the power of crowdsourcing Todd, from Design and Make, asked the attendees to chip in their ideas for a theme that he could use to build the next Hack of the Week project around.  Being who he is, Todd had a few ideas in mind that he felt would be possible... but he could not have been any farther away from what was decided. 

When the dust settled it turned out that this group was very passionate about their pets and that they wanted something they could use to make a memorial from.  Todd left the room for a few hours and returned with what he felt would be a good versatile project that could be used to create a special gift or keepsake.  Promising that once he got back to the office he would allow all the attendees to download the Assembled Layout from the project for free, as a thank you for their help.  So here it is...

Have a look at this video and see how Todd takes the model into Aspire (can be done in VCarve Desktop or Pro) creates all of the parts, tooling and then actually makes the finished box.
